Sheffield-based songwriter and guitarist Jim Ghedi returned this year with “Wasteland” – a record that is vast, bold, and unafraid to journey into the darker corners of the modern world. Blending folk traditions with a strikingly contemporary edge, Ghedi’s music explores the enormity of life from the deeply personal to the universal.

Wasteland is a meditation on change and collapse places once familiar becoming unrecognisable, grief and personal loss set against the backdrop of environmental and societal shifts. Yet within that darkness, Ghedi finds solace in the natural world, weaving together beauty, vulnerability, and resilience in songs that are as atmospheric as they are heartfelt. Expect an evening of powerful, brooding, and deeply moving music here at The Common Room.
