What we collect

We are interested in things connected to mining engineering in its widest sense. This includes the mineral in the ground, how it is extracted and how it is processed and used. We also collect materials about the lives of the people involved in the whole process and the communities around them. The wider allied industries such as railways and canals are also represented in our collections.

Can you help cover donation costs?

Every acquisition has a related cost in order to catalogue, conserve and digitise it; if you are able to contribute to enable us to provide long term access to the public, we would immensely appreciate it.
