Originally built in 1872 as The Mining Institute, The Common Room has been lovingly restored to preserve its historic charm while offering modern amenities. With a vast glass ceiling and stained-glass windows, the Wood Hall, built as a library, holds over a century’s worth of inspiration. Additionally, our original Edwardian Lecture Theatre was built to deliver ground-breaking lectures on 19th century industry.
