About this event
Graft & Glory tells the story of our region’s engineers. They invented, innovated and campaigned to make mining safer, not only in the North East, but also around the world. It is the story of our region’s graft and glory: our responses to challenges facing industry, past, present and future.
Discover geology specimens and items from The Common Room’s archive and collection that link to the heritage of the National Park.

About The Sill
The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre is a hub for the rural economy, a place where local producers and brands have a route to market via our Once Brewed Café and Sill Shop; it’s a centre and base for learning from early years to higher education; a driver for the Northumberland economy; a celebration and a reminder of the importance of landscape in understanding who we are as a nation, and a place to emphasise the importance of its care.
