Kean Kavanagh’s musical journey has taken him from Houston, Texas, to the Irish midlands, swapping a promising law career for life as one of Ireland’s most exciting indie voices. After co-founding Dublin’s influential hip-hop label Soft Boy Records with Kojaque, Kavanagh made his mark as both DJ and vocalist, helping shape a scene that blends camaraderie with raw honesty.

He first turned heads as a solo artist during the COVID-19 lockdown with his mixtape Dog Person — a soulful mix of electronic grooves and indie rock storytelling. Appearances alongside Everything Is Recorded and support slots for acts like Vampire Weekend confirmed his rising status, as did his shapeshifting EP Wrestling Music and the heartfelt folk rendition The Portlaoise Queen.
