She Shanties 15th Birthday

Full description

She Shanties are a shanty crew, beginning with much rum and merriment in Whitby in 2011.

Since then, they have sung on stages, big and small at home and abroad, in beer tents and women’s toilets.

This summer they took to the main stage at Sidmouth Folk Festival where they supported Lindisfarne. They were described as “Refreshingly different, their captivating harmonies and rich vocal arrangements breathed new life into old favourites, such as the rousing “Eliza Lee”, the powerful “Old Maui” and the rollicking “One More Day”.

Best moment was the hilarious crowd-pleaser “Twiddles”. Overall, She Shanties were a delight”. Now they come to the Common Room to celebrate their 15th birthday, with guests:
