The free after-hours culture crawl, facilitated by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums and sponsored by Creative Central NCL, is set to captivate attendees with over 60 Newcastle and Gateshead music and performance venues, art studios, galleries, and museums. This vibrant event will showcase fun and intriguing activities, alongside five new artist commissions.
Supported by Creative Central NCL, these brand new artist commissions will be hosted at The Common Room, Dance City, Grainger Market, and Blackfriars. Each commission draws inspiration from its location, whether it’s the environment, heritage, or archives and collections.
Among these commissions, multimedia artist Emma Tominey will unveil an AR Art Trail at The Common Room, where digital artworks will overlay existing portraits, bringing art to life!
Save the dates to vist us! The event will take place on Friday, May 17, in the Ouseburn from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and on Saturday, May 18, in venues across Gateshead (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) and central Newcastle (6:00 PM to 10:30 PM).
